Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for the many events throughout the year such as golf tournaments, award dinners, working with various Bright Path Youth program events. Jim Thorpe Museum Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame Volunteer Jobs

● Collections: Assist with the cataloging, processing, storage and
conservation of artifacts in the museum’s collections as well as
artifacts on loan.

1. Data entry: Enter all pertinent artifact data into museum
software

2. Marking/labeling Artifacts: mark and label artifacts with
accession/loan number

3. Storage of artifacts: Properly store artifacts in artifact
containers/storage areas.

4. Cleaning: Clean storage room weekly

5. Weekly Inventory: spot check artifacts to inventory list

● Facilities: Assist with the daily facility maintenance.

1. Weekly window/case glass cleaning

2. vacuum/dust displays and exhibit cases

3. Assist with cleaning of grounds/property

4. Seasonal planting in museum gardens

● Guided Tours: Guided tours of museum galleries.

● Gallery Information Kiosk: Man gallery information station. Assist
patrons by answering questions about the museum and Jim Thorpe
Association.

● Gift Shop: Operate museum gift shop during business hours
