Awards:

The Jim Thorpe Award:    The Jim Thorpe Award is given annually to the top defensive back in NCAA Division 1-A football.

The Oklahoma All-State Football Team:    The Jim Thorpe Association and the Daily Oklahoman honor the top high-school football players in Oklahoma.

Allie P. Reynolds Award:  This Prestigious award goes to the high school senior who best reflects the spirit of Allie Reynolds by maintaining the highest standards in scholarship, leadership, civic contributions and character. 

Abe Lemons Award:   The Abe Lemons Award is presented to a member of the Jim Thorpe Executive Council.

Lifetime Achievement Award:  The highest award presented by
the Jim Thorpe Association.  Only seven people have received this award since the association was founded in 1986.

Jim Thorpe NFL Most Valuable Player Trophy:    "Most Valuable Player"


Oklahoma High Schools Player of the Year Award:

The Jim Thorpe Association, in cooperation with the Oklahoma Coaches Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and McDonald's Restaurants, present the Jim Thorpe Player of the Year Awards to an outstanding athlete in each sport included in the All-State Games.

These athletes are judged on athletic performance, character, coachable attitude, unselfish spirit and academics. cha

Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame Award of Merit: 

The Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame Award of Merit is presented to Jim Thorpe Association staff members and volunteers who work diligently behind the scenes to keep the association's events and projects moving in the right direction. These are the people who distribute programs, decorate banquets, make flight arrangements, keep records, pay bills, write letters, collect auction items, and take care of hundreds of other details necessary to the successful operation of our organization.

Robert Kalsu Freedom Award:   

Named after the only professional athlete to be killed in Viet Nam, the Robert Kalsu Freedom Award is presented by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame to individuals who have distinguished themselves in sports and have made extraordinary personal contributions and/or sacrifices that this nation, and the freedom for which it stands, shall endure.
